Meet Mabel. A kind-hearted friend who spends her time strolling through wildflower fields, collecting flowers, and stopping to write letters for her pen pals or notes in her diary. She has in her bag some flowers she foraged recently and a couple of older notes she’s held onto… a couple of cherished memories. (You can read more about her in my Studio Journal)
Materials: Mabel’s head, forearms, and lower legs are hand-sculpted in polymer clay, painted with acrylics. Her eyes are glass. Her body is sewn in cotton (plus stuffing), and her clothing (and tail) is made with upcycled vegan textiles. Her whiskers are hemp fibers. Her shoulder and hip joints are buttons, and her arms and legs feature colored glass beads. She is fully movable and soft, and has a nice weight. She can sit upright on her own if balanced, but I always prefer leaning the doll against something to be safe. Her flowers are preserved baby’s breath. 8.5 inches “tall” seated, and her full length (toe to ears) is 14”.
